When making end-of-year giving plans, consider a gift to the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Foundation (WVMF). Your donation,
100 percent tax deductible, will be used to fund programs helping animals, people and communities throughout Wisconsin.

WVMF priorities include programs for veterans and their pets, disaster relief assistance for animals during natural or man-made disasters, pet care education programs, and scholarships and training for veterinary medical students. The WVMF Board awards funds several times per year to worthy non-profit service organizations. Grant applications can be found online at wvmfoundation.org.

Over the past two years, the WVMF has awarded grants to fund:

• Support dogs and horses for children with developmental disabilities

• Support dogs for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder

• Support for training emergency workers helping to relocate animals stranded during natural disasters

• Support for no-kill shelters

• Support for veterinary clinics that provide free or low-cost services to those in need

• Support for training programs for veterinary students

In addition to a general WVMF donation, consider participating in the Kindred Companions Memorial Fund. Hospitals and clinics can make a $10 donation in memory of a client’s pet who has passed on, providing some comfort to the family that lost their cherished animal and supporting the fundraising initiatives of the WVMF. Upon receiving the donation, the WVMF will send a heartfelt, personalized card conveying sympathy for the family’s loss, letting them know a donation has been made in memory of their pet. Since this program began, the WVMF has raised nearly $40,000 from participating clinics.
