Rooftop or Bust!

The Blue Coat Ceremony will be held outdoors. There is no indoor or virtual backup. While every effort will be made to celebrate in-person, there is a possibility we may have to cancel due to ongoing public health conditions or in the event of harsh weather. If any changes are made, we will update you via email.

Third-Year Students Only May Attend

No family or friends will be allowed at the venue. See above for the link to the video option for friends and family to watch the ceremony. There are no limits on the number of devices allowed.

UW COVID Guidelines Still Apply

Participating students will need to be part of the Safer Badgers testing program and show a green “access granted” Badger Badge on their Safer Badgers mobile app for entrance to the Monona Terrace. Additionally, all participants must abide by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines – no COVID-19 symptoms, masking, sanitizing and social distancing (six feet).

Safer Badgers App

You must have a green badge on your Safer Badgers app in order to attend the Blue Coat Ceremony. Be prepared to show your green badge when you arrive.

No Food or Drink

Current guidelines do not allow for us to provide food or drink at the event. Carry-ins are also prohibited.

Online Learning Portal

All continuing education (CE) is now housed in the WVMA Online Learning platform. Launched in January 2021, you now can register for and attend live CE webinars or watch on-demand CE webinars and courses on your own schedule.

Live webinars will generally be one to two hours in length. New opportunities will be posted throughout the year and cover topics applicable for entire clinic teams.

On-demand CE courses will be released at the beginning of each month and include a live webinar toward the end of the course month. Courses will typically consist of four pre-recorded videos and one live, two-hour webinar, offering a total of 7.2 CE credits.

CE certificates can be printed following the completion of a live webinar or on-demand CE assessment.
