The WVMA Executive Board has appointed Dr. Keith Poulsen to fill the vacant AVMA House of Delegates (HOD) Alternate Delegate position. When his term expires in 2023, he will move into the AVMA HOD position for a four-year term.
A 2004 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Poulsen is the director of the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. His professional interests focus on sustaining and improving public and animal health.
Dr. Poulsen’s involvement in the WVMA includes serving on the One Health Committee since 2015 and the Executive Board as an ex-officio member since 2018.
“I am looking forward to learning more about how to represent WVMA interests at the national level to benefit Wisconsin veterinarians,” says Poulsen. “Our profession is continually changing, and I think it is important to be part of the discussions and decisions on policies and initiatives led by the AVMA.”
