Pet Pics, Please!

May 3, 2025 | Animal Owners, News, WVMA News

May 4-10 is National Pet Week—seven mood-boosting, heartwarming days in early May to celebrate all the ways our amazing pets make life better. No matter what the day throws our way or how heavy things get, they’re always there, ready to make sure we know how much we matter.

Created by the AVMA and the Auxiliary to the AVMA in 1981, National Pet Week is not only a chance to show extra appreciation for our furry, finned, feathered, and scaly-skinned friends, but it also encourages responsible pet care every day of the year.

And that got us wondering. You’ve dedicated a huge part of your lives to keeping our best buddies healthy and happy—what about you and your cuddly companions? Who greets you with unbounded admiration every time you step foot in the door after a long day of work? Who do you snuggle with when the going gets tough? Who chews up your socks and poops in your yard?

Show the Love  We’d love to see your pets and hear all about what makes them so great. We know you’re busy, so we’ll make this easy. Take a quick pic and write a few words to let us know how much they mean to you. Send your love stories to Jason at jschultz@wvma.org

Our plan is to share your heartfelt snapshots with WVMA members in a creative and feel-good way. Why? Because we could all use a little feel-good break from the everyday, and pets have an unconditional way of making everything okay. Now, let’s see those pet pics!
