Insulin Dysregulation in Horses: A Little Goes a Long Way
Live webinar: Tuesday, December 8, Noon – 1 pm
Hyperinsulinemia in horses doesn't announce itself, but it can cause real harm, laminitis above all. In Insulin Dysregulation in Horses: A Little Goes a Long Way, Alex Powers, DVM, DACVIM-LAIM walks through the two major causes, PPID (pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction) and EMS (equine metabolic syndrome). You'll review the diagnostic options for both, then move into management: medications, supplements, and dietary strategies for horses with metabolic disease.
Whether you see a few metabolic horses a year or a lot of them, you'll leave with a clearer diagnostic approach and practical, client-friendly management recommendations.
