Howard Ketover, DVM, assumed the role of president during the WVMA’s annual meeting on October 21.

A 2002 graduate of the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ketover practices at Irongate Equine Clinic in Madison where he has been a partner/owner since 2008. In addition, he is the director and lead for Wisconsin Large Animal Emergency Response, a 501(c)(3) organization that trains veterinarians and first responders to manage large animals safely in emergency and disaster scenarios.

“During my term as president, I hope to increase awareness of programs that promote work-life balance, inclusiveness and overall wellness among our members,” Dr. Ketover says. “There is a need for improvements to our membership platform that will allow for more seamless member management and expansion of continuing education, member resources and financial transactions. With new technology we could increase access and inclusiveness for veterinarians, support staff, students and industry partners.”

Dr. Ketover, his wife, Danica, and their son, Noah, reside in Sauk City with their two dogs and two horses. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, kayaking, winter skiing, and studying history, especially the U.S. Civil War period.
