Taught at a level for farriers and veterinarians, this program begins with a unique perspective of the foot. Participants are able to see the simplicity of observing small details that they never considered. To do this, the first hour is learning to sketch the basic foot, the external characteristics and the hilow syndrome (miss-matched foot) front and hind and the basic stereotypes, all of which can be quite healthy. Then participants are taught the value of the most informative radiographic views for the veterinarian-farrier team and the reason for always being alert to the ever-changing soft tissue parameters and how these are a reflection of the mechanical forces. These lessons are the basis for veterinarians and farriers to build their mechanical thought process that allows them to think through any and all foot issues step-by-step.
