Polyuria and polydipsia are common in small animal practice, for which there are many potential causes.  A practical, diagnostic approach to working up a patient presenting with PU/PD will be presented and provide a step-by-step plan for diagnosing all your PU/PU patients. Actual cases of patients presenting for PU/PD will be discussed, including common causes of PU/PD such as chronic kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, hyperadrenocorticism, hypercalcemia and hyperthyroidism.
