Anesthesia Boot Camp for Veterinary Technicians
Hits : 318

There will be 2 anesthesiology sessions running concurrently: “The Basics & Beyond” and “Advanced Anesthesia Monitoring & Analgesic Techniques”. Participants will be allowed to switch between the two session tracts throughout the day for a customized CE experience.

Anesthesia: The Basics and Beyond
This veterinary technician conference focuses on the basics of the anesthesia and analgesia, from premedication through to the recovery period. Attendees will learn about a wide variety of anesthetic and analgesic drugs and how to make the best choices for each patient. They will also gain a wealth of knowledge about anesthetic machines and monitors, which they will be able to take back to their veterinary clinics. Participants will learn the physiology and dynamics behind appropriate pain assessment and how to incorporate top-notch analgesic techniques into their everyday cases. This conference is designed to help veterinary technicians build on their current knowledge base and improve the level of care they provide at their veterinary practices. Although both the general practitioner and the technician may register for this program, the course content is taught at a technician level.

Advanced Anesthesia Monitoring & Analgesic Techniques
This veterinary technician conference focuses on going beyond the basics of anesthesia and analgesia. Attendees will take an in-depth look at the physiology and practical usage of several advanced monitors. Participants will leave with an understanding of capnometry, mechanical ventilation, blood gas interpretation and invasive cardiovascular monitoring. They will also learn the latest in pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical analgesic techniques, intra-and post-operative analgesia, and exotics anesthesia. This conference is designed to move veterinary technician anesthetists to an advanced level when providing care at their veterinary practices. Although both the general practitioner and the technician may register for this program, the course content is taught at an intermediate-advanced technician level.
